Alumni News Newsletter Spring 2001 The Corps Summer Family Picnic... will include a performance at Conneaut Lake Park on Sunday, June 24th at 3pm. Park opens at Noon, please be there no later than 1:30p.m. Uniform will be Green Golf Shirts, Black pants and Black shoes. Bring Dress Uniform just in case. Marching members will receive free ride-a-rama, the cost for non-members is $5.00. The Drum Corps will provide Beverages, Hamburgers and Hotdogs. Everyone is asked to bring a hot or cold dish. DIRECTIONS to park: Interstate 79 to Exit 147 (old 36B) (Conneaut Lake), follow signs to route 618, turn right, park is 2 miles on the right. Board News...At the April meeting, Officers of the Thunderbird Alumni Association, Inc., parent organization of the Erie Thunderbirds Drum and Bugle Corps, unanimously voted to appoint long time member, Rick Carr to the board of Directors. Rick's strong ties to the Erie Area Communities and his promoting experience will be a strong asset to the Board and Corps. Business Manager's Report... Gary Matczak... Rooms have been booked at the Wyndam, Syracuse for DCA weekend. Current plans for the trip this year include both the Mini Corps and Drum ensemble competitions. medical setbacks at the Lakeshore Healthcare Center in Irving, NY. Donny's
love for Drum Corps and for the people involved with him is rarely matched
or exceeded. If you would like to drop him a note, his address is: Corps Uniforms, Equipment & Apparel Available... Corps jackets, sweatshirts, polo shirts, caps, etc. as well as corps uniforms are available by calling Quartermaster Fred Nicklas at 814-456-7628. Also, brass musicians should direct any instrument inquiries to Fred. If you do not plan on active participation this season, please turn in your uniform and equipment or make arrangement to have them picked up so that others can use them. Thursday July 12 - Rehearsal Glenwood Zoo Park - 7:00PM Schedule is subject to change. Rooms have been booked at the Wyndam, Syracuse for DCA weekend. Current plans for the trip this year include both the Mini Corps and Drum ensemble competitions. The rate is $99.00 per room regardless of the number of persons, plus 12% tax.
